Author Reading Preview: Catherine Lundoff & Michael Merriam

Pirates: Outlaws. Lovers. Heroes. Villains.

This is the tagline you’ll find on the back of The Scourge of the Seas of Time (and Space). The description certainly fits. With this anthology’s diverse array of characters, stories, and settings, you’ll explore many definitions of the word pirate, all without leaving your favorite reading chair.

I’m going to go ahead and skip ahead on this post and tell you my favorite part of this book: that despite all the treasure, despite all the battles (at sea and in space), and despite all the swashbuckling bravado, the pirates in these stories are, at the end of the day, human. They struggle with the same things all humans do, and they seek love and comfort just like the rest of us. These stories are great to consume in one or two sittings, or spread them out and read a story or two when you’re looking for something adventurous.

You can pick up a copy of The Scourge of the Seas of Time (and Space) at the author reading on Sunday, May 19th at 2pm. Catherine Lundoff, the editor of the anthology, and Michael Merriam, author of the story Tenari, will be joining us for a reading. Read more about them below!
